Two Concerts in two of Austria's most beautiful churches
This weekend, we look forward to two very special concerts in Austria. Together with the gentlemen of
the Chorus Viennensis and the Orchester Wiener Akademie, we will perform masterpieces of the Viennese Classical
period in two of Austria's most beautiful sacred buildings.
Conducted by Martin Haselböck,
we will sing works by Joseph Haydn and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. The main piece is Mozart's famous Spatzenmesse (Sparrow Mass), a particularly enchanting setting of the mass ordinary, written in 1775
for the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg – which we love to sing. The eponymous "sparrows" are hiding in the violins, easy to
spot.
Concert dates this weekend:
- Saturday, July 4, 6:00 PM – Stiftskirche Zwettl
- Sunday, July 5, 5:00 PM – Basilika Mondsee
See you there!
