Bach in Lugano
Bach fans can look forward to a special event at
the Lugano LAC: Luca Pianca and his Ensemble Claudiana have created a veritable Bach feast, honouring the composer with the
double concerto in d minor and three of his most beautiful cantatas: Himmelskönig, sei willkommen (BWV 182), Wir müssen
durch viel Trübsal (BWV 146), and Herz und Mund und That und Leben (BWV 147) – featuring the hauntingly beautiful chorale
‘Jesus, Joy of Man’s Desiring.
The collaboration with Pianca's specialist ensemble dates back to 2008; since then, 90 cantatas, Christmas Oratorio and St John Passion have been performed at the Wiener Konzerthaus. Luca Pianca can also be seen in ‘Good Shepherds’ (2017/2022) – one of Curt Faudon’s movies on the Vienna Boys Choir, accompanying flutist Dorothee Oberlinger and the choir in a rococo scene – in period costume.
