Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Summer Festival
Concerts on the
island of Rügen and in Schwerin
The Vienna Boys Choir performs two concerts in St. Mary's Church
in Bergen on Rügen and in Schwerin's "Schelfkirche", conducted by Oliver Stech
At the prestigious Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Summer Festival, the Vienna Boys Choir performs works by Grossi da Viadana, Purcell, Mozart, Mendelssohn, and Franz Biebl. New to the choir's repertoire: a setting of the "Kyrie" from Rossini's Petite messe solenelle, accompanied by a chorister on the piano, and a setting of Hildegard von Bingen's "Ave, generosa" by Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo, written in 2017.
