Sung Eucharist at the Imperial Chapel

The Chapel Imperial will perform Missa brevis in C, K.259 by W.A. Mozart, known as "organ solo mass". Conductor Mirjam Schmidt looks forward to Sunday, describing Mozart's moving setting as "almost microsccopic: Mozart manages to interpret the text in detailed and exquisite musical images and motives." She adds, "It is fascinating to know that the mass ordinary is almost 2000 years old; it has been set to music countless times, and it is today more pertinent than ever, in particular the final 'Dona nobis pacem', Lord, grant us peace."

The Austrian branch of the Make a Wish Foundation celebrates a quarter of a century

Make a Wish celebrates in style, at Vienna's City Hall; there will be a whole host of activities for children of all ages, magic and games, and a performance of Prokofieff's Peter and the Wolf, by the Vienna Symphony Orchestra - narrated by everyone's favourite rat person in Austria, Rolf (Rolf, not Wolf)-Rüdiger and his friend Robert Steiner.

Our very own primary school choir, Chorus Primus (i.e. the girls and boys in fourth grade), will sing two songs with the orchestra; one of them - Sesivuma sigiya - as a sing-along for everyone. We are hoping for many, many children in the audience to create a giant choir (and raise the Rathaus roof!).

Tickets are 10 Euro per child (ages 6 and up), 15 Euros per adult; families get a reduced rate. And if you happen to be under 6, entrance is free.
