"On Stage" - 2024 USA Tour

After a hugely succesful tour of Korea, Haydnchor and conductor Jimmy Chiang are on the road again - this time, in the United States. 24 concerts in ten states and a whole host of new experiences await the boys and their chaperones. Their programme, "On Stage", includes songs telling about life on stage, in a concert, in musicals, operas, and on screen, the "stage" in a film. The choir will sing pieces from Verdi's "Macbeth" and "Nabucco", as well as the famous Barcarole from "The Tales of Hoffmann" by Jacques Offenbach. Among the film scores are "Hail, Holy Queen", "Nella Fantasia", and "Prayer". Highlights from the concert stage include a five-part motet by Jacobus Gallus, Canite tuba in Sion, "Gondelfahrer" by Franz Schubert, as well as international folk songs and waltzes and polkas by Johann Strauss. The boys are particularly pleased to sing Irving Berlin's musical hit, "There's No Business Like Show Business" - a new addition to the choir's extensive repertoire.

The current crises affect us badly, both as a school and as artists. The Vienna Boys Choir is a private charity which does not receive regular subsidies, but funds itself through concerts, recordings, sponsorship, and donations.

Due to the pandemic, we have had to cancel well over 700 performances and lost the income of more than two years.

Please help us, if you can. Your donation - however small - is much appreciated.

Thank you! - and please stay safe.

Yours, the Vienna Boys Choir
