This Sunday, the Chapel Imperial performs a Renaissance masterpiece, the Pater noster Mass by Jacobus Gallus.
Gallus was born in Slowenia circa 1550. He came to Austria as a teenager, and likely sang in the Chapel of Holy Roman Emperor Maximilian II, both in Vienna and in Prague. He was held in high esteem by his contemporaries, and many of his works were written for the Chapel Imperial.
