AGM elects a new Board for the Choir

In accordance with its statutes, the Vienna Boys Choir Association has elected a new Board at the Annual General Meeting held on 1 December 2022. The Board consists of ten members; board positions are honorary and unsalaried. Three new members were welcomed to the board, DI Volker Dienst, Mag. (FH) Thomas Puchegger, and Dr. Christian Zwick; and a new steering committee was appointed unanimously, with Mag. Erich Arthold to serve as president, Mag. Gregor Morawetz as first vice president, and DI Volker Dienst as second vice president.

The choir's Artistic Director, Professor Gerald Wirth, who served as president for two terms, is thrilled, „I think Erich is the ideal person for this job; he has a huge background in artists' and brand management, and we are hoping that he will manage to find and acquire the right sponsors to ensure the choir's future.“ Wirth will now focus on developping the choir's campus and curriculum, for girls and boys from kindergarten to university entrance exams, „Music education at the highest level is crucial for everyone individually, and for our society as a whole.“ The world-famous choir has a tradition of giving all children, regardless of their background, access to its education.
