"On Stage" - 2024 Korea Tour

From 15 January to 29 January, Haydnchor and conductor Jimmy Chiang are on the road again - this time, in South Korea. Eight concerts in Seoul, Daegu, Ulsan, Tongyeong, Sejong, and Chuncheon and a whole host of new experiences await the boys and their chaperones. Their programme, "On Stage", includes songs telling about life on stage, in a concert, in musicals, operas, and on screen, the "stage" in a film. The choir will sing pieces from Verdi's "Macbeth" and "Nabucco", as well as the famous Barcarole from "The Tales of Hoffmann" by Jacques Offenbach. Among the film scores are "Hail, Holy Queen", "Nella Fantasia", and "Prayer". Highlights from the concert stage include a five-part motet by Jacobus Gallus, Canite tuba in Sion, "Gondelfahrer" by Franz Schubert, as well as international folk songs and waltzes and polkas by Johann Strauss. The boys are particularly pleased to sing Irving Berlin's musical hit, "There's No Business Like Show Business" - a South Korean premiere.
