Two Concerts in Switzerland

Schubertchor will perform two more concerts in Switzerland under its new conductor Niccolò Morello: at the Stadtcasino Basel on 20 March, and at the KK Vitznau on 22 March. In addition to music by the Strauss brothers - Johann and Josef - , the programme contains a highly romantic selection of songs by Schumann, Mendelssohn, and Brahms, as well as a rarely heard piece by the Liechtenstein composer Josef Gabriel Rheinberger. A highlight is Oliver Gies' rousing a cappella arrangement of Schubert's Erlkönig. The concerts ends with a  tribute to three fabulous fictional ladies: ‘Chim chim cher-ee’ from Mary Poppins, Barbie’s song ‘What Was I Made For?’ by Billie Eilish, and Alan Menken's ‘Under the Sea’ from Arielle.
